New Course goals (Cossey)

I’m still thinking on specific goals for my topic, but here are a few overall goals for a non-majors science course.

The most important things I would like to see as student outcomes are:

1) Opinions on civic-issues based in scientific facts/thinking – application of knowledge

2) The ability to evaluate their own understanding of a topic or area, and to find resources to educate themselves in what they DON’T know. – metacognitive process

3) Increased motivation to get involved in civic issues. Recognize opportunities where they or others could make a difference. – application of knowledge (in both science and major)

I plan to update these to include more SPECIFIC goals as well. Stay tuned.
