SENCER Summer Institute -PLEASE respond

Greetings Innovative-Course Building Group Members,

As you may recall, SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagements & Responsibilities) hosts a Summer Institute each year and this institute has helped get our IC-BG workshop up and running. GCSU has sent a team to the SENCER Summer Institute (SSI) for the past several years. Faculty have presented a variety of topics, including courses that they have developed or implemented, capacity building activities on campus, as well as student work in SENCER-type courses. Funding to attend SSI 2010 is already in place, however, attendance at the Institute requires the identification of a team and an application. The institute this year will be held in Asheville, NC from July 29th to August 2nd. There is more information here:

We’d like to know if you are interested in attending the institute this summer and what you hope to gain from attendance. Please respond and let us know whether or not you’d like to attend as SOON AS POSSIBLE. Our deadline for application is Tuesday March 2nd. If you could let us know by Monday March 1st, it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about the shortened notice, but do think about attending. Those of us who have participated in the past have had excellent experiences at the institutes. It’s a great conference to showcase course development, to see what other colleges are doing and for networking with other like-minded faculty.
