Hi all – i enjoyed meeting everyone! I am the one who teaches educational technology and library media. I want to incorporate the theme of social justice in an ed tech course. I am thinking of the general Technology for Teachers course or the Instructional Design course. I also teach a course on Distance Learning and can see potential in all three for including the theme.
Community projects might include:
Designing a workshops for teachers
Boys and Girls Club or other afterschool tutoring
on computer skills
Perhaps a design project for a community group
I am really interested in international education, so perhaps the Distance Learning course could do something with virtual pen pals or virtual tutoring

I have a suggestion or potential project you might want to consider. I have been working with the community garden and we have a children’s garden that we would like to use as the nexus for some teacher materials. We thought this would increase children participation in the garden. I wonder if there might be a way to connect your instructional courses to the garden?? -just a thought.

    Dear Judy:

Bill Fisher, Art Dept. Chair and I, have requested “Move the Needle” funds to host a Summer Institute for Art Teachers.

Recently, I was appointed Museum Division Representative for the Georgia Art Educator’s Association. So, we will be targeting this group.

Let me know if this sounds like anything you would be interested in participating in or not.

Thanks, Shannon Morris (Museum Curator and Interdisciplinary Instructor)
