IC-bGer and American Democracy Project Coordinator, Gregg Kaufman has started a Times Talk blog. Subscribe to this blog to receive notifications about upcoming Times Talk activities.

Friends,

In an effort to create a Times Talk following – no, I am not creating a Twitter account – I invite you to subscribe to a new Times Talk blog. I hope we can encourage additional students, faculty, and staff to subscribe. It is as easy as typing your email address into the upper right hand corner of the page.

In addition to this high tech approach, we are using the very low tech and I might add, cheap, home-made white board easel as a Free Speech board to gather civil opinions about the weekly topic in front of A&S. When the state revenues increase we might consider a Goodyear Blimp!

Sadly, I have had a number of faculty members ask if Times Talk is still happening in spite of University Communications support of the series by publishing the weekly topic in This Week at Georgia College. We are indeed alive and well with 25 and 32 participants coming on consecutive weeks, in large part due to our freshman seminar instructors.

In any case, the blog will give us an opportunity to both promote and report some Times Talk "outcomes." Congratulations to Ben Scafidi for being featured in the first-ever Times Talk Blog visual image.
