ICBG Workshops: Upcoming workshop Friday October 28th

Our next ICBG workshop is next week, Friday October 28th at 2 pm.

Topic: Curriculum Mapping (as part of the SMART workshop series, see details below)

New location: University Banquet Room B

We’ve updated our schedule of topics to include curriculum mapping for two reasons. (1) Because we realize that many of our members may already be on their Department Assessment committees and will therefore be required to go to this workshop. We did not want to have a time conflict. Even if you are not on an assessment committee, as someone interested in improving teaching and learning, it is important to be sure that you know how your course fits into your program’s goals. (2) Because ICBG is presenting the workshop, it will be an example of a goal driven process with assessment in mind. Hence it will be relevant to the group.

After this workshop, we will return to the normal workshop schedule and location, see Updated Workshop Schedule below.

SMART Assessment Workshop
(SMART is a new process for completing the APR, the one where assessment is planned out to maintain SACS accreditation. Due to the confusion with 3 other APR’s, they are changing the name.)

On October 28th at 2pm in the University Banquet Room B, the University Assessment Team and the Innovative Course-building Group will present the first in a series of SMART Assessment workshops. This workshop will focus on the M in SMART – Mapping the curriculum. I encourage you all to attend and bring faculty from your programs along. You will get some hands-on experience mapping courses to goals. We will also be providing you with information about important modifications to the Assessment process that will streamline your reporting. Future workshops will address the ART in assessment.
