IT’S ALL IN THE TELLING: The Newell Scholar Narrative Science Writing Seminar

As you build your Spring 2013 courses/syllabi, please find any opportunity to include these dates and spread the word to your colleagues about GC’s inaugural Newell Visiting Distinguished Scholar, Dr. Caitlin O’Connell Rodwell of Stanford University’s School of Medicine. Dr. O’Connell Rodwell will complete a residency at Georgia College during Spring 2013.

On Monday, January 14, 2013, President Dorman will introduce the first Newell Visiting Distingushed Scholar to the university and community at her Gallery Exhibitand Reception (Library Museum Education Room): Elephant Photographs (5:30 – 7:00 PM; remarks at 6:00 PM).

As part of her residency, Dr. O’Connell Rodwell will offer a course, IT’S ALL IN THE TELLING: The Newell Scholar Narrative Science Writing Seminar. Embedded in her course are bi-weekly open presentations on Thursdays, time TBD but likely closer to 7 pm. The first open presentation is scheduled for January 24, 2013: The Social Lives of Elephants. On Jan. 24, Dr. O’Connell Rodwell will host a book-signing event.
