Greetings!
We need more information from the SCN Scholars applicants. If you have already applied for either Scholars program please complete the following brief survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SCNScholars.
Thank you for applying.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) Scholars
New faculty, graduate student or postdoc users could apply for a mentored experience with SCN steering committee and mentors. The fellows will develop a SOTL project and document their case use.

SOTL Scholars would read and discuss on line materials related to the scholarship of teaching and learning. Margaret Waterman, Pat Marsteller and Deborah Allen will mentor the fellows. We anticipate that SOTL Scholars will spend about 2 hours per week reading, reflecting and developing their project in January to March. The SOTL mentors will meet with SOTL scholars monthly using Skype, Adobe Connect or Google hangouts.

Each scholar would develop a year-long project. Each scholar would discuss the approach they plan to use on-line to entice others to try a SOTL approach. They would present their results at one of our network conferences and a national disciplinary conference.

SOTL scholars would receive $500 plus travel to present their work.at of the SCN meetings. This year group leaders will present progress at the SCN conference at the University of Delaware June 28-30, 2014. Future meetings to be determined, possibly at American Society of Microbiology Committee on Undergraduate Education 2015 or Ecology 2015.

To apply to be a SOTL Scholar, please complete the application by December 15. Please limit your proposals to 500-600 words.
